WELCOME!
My
name is Scott. I’m a nursing
student and this is my blog. I’m just
a regular guy who enjoys fitness, photography, and the small things in
life. All the while trying to expand my palate, my mind and put
foot-to-asphalt in the process.
Currently
I’m hot n heavy for running, but it hasn’t always been that way. My time in military had me in a gym
where I fought for size and strength.
At my “biggest” I was benching 265lbs – nothing special to most, but a
big accomplishment for me at the time.
I could move weight, but could barely run a mile and a half to save my
life.
I
was introduced to Crossfit on the back end of my enlistment where I learned
that cardio strength shouldn’t be over looked in pursuit of muscle
strength. After my enlistment was
up I found a Crossfit gym and proceed to get my ass kicked daily by
workouts. I dropped weight, sizes,
blood, sweat, and tears in that gym.
Coming out mentally stronger and fitter than when I entered.
Then
as life would have it I was accepted into nursing school. Time and money disappeared and I had to
continue training at my home.
That’s when a neighbor introduced my wife into running and the bug took
hold for both of us. Now we work hard to make healthy decisions about what we put into our bodies and the exercise we're getting.
When
I have time I blog about not only getting healthy and active, but about getting
out my house and my comfort zone to explore - no matter how close or far - the
world that I live in.
